During the next six week we will be reading, studying, praying about and discussing six major themes of the Book of Acts. Each week could have some assigned reading, some optional reading, some questions and even some creative exercises either in preparation for our time together or during our time together. We may event watch a little video clip here and there, which was not actually part of the routine of the early church, but now we are getting a little ahead of ourselves, aren’t we.
Reading assignments will consist of certain passages of scripture in the Book of Acts and elsewhere as well as some other snippets that will be included in the weekly materials. You will not need to read anything online, no other books, just the Bible and the stuff included in the emails/handouts. Though to ensure that you do not feel that this is a little cultish, feel free to read whatever you want whenever you want J.
So what is our goal? It is our desire that at the end of the time we will have grown in our understanding of and relation to:
What good is all of this understanding of the bible?
What does it mean to obey Christ’s commands?
What does being a follower of Jesus look like?
Is there something that God has designed me for and equipped me to do?
What am I really supposed to do with the Good News?
